Out on the Windward side there is Kualoa Ranch. This is a 4000 acre nature reserve and a cattle ranch. It’s a very popular tourist attraction and film location. Jurassic world, Kong Skull Island, and Jumanji have filmed here. The off-round tour takes you to explore Ko’olau Mountains. It’s something I recommend seeing at least once. The view of China Men’s hat is incredible. The ride through the jungle is pretty exciting itself. 

Floaty surfing, it’s exactly what it sounds like! A couple of friends and I took a small boat-like floaty out on the waters of Kailua beach to surf. There were about five of us in the floaty together, the people on the outside had the job of paddling for the wave while one other friend helped push. Of course the waves weren’t big so it wasn’t too crazy or anything. This was kind of just a little adventure activity to have fun outdoors. You can never go wrong with good company and a day at the beach!

As a lover for adventure, one of my most enjoyed waterfall hikes is Lulumahu Falls. This hike is right off of the Pali highway. Crossing the creek through a bamboo forest comes the breathtaking reward of this waterfall. The hike is a fairly easy one, as long as you aren't afraid of getting a little muddy. The unmarked trail goes about 1.7 miles up, passing through a few streams with a little amount of climbing. The fresh waterfall is absolutely worth the time and effort put in. The pool area of the waterfall isn’t too big, but the waterfall itself is a blast on its own. If you haven’t done this hike before, or were looking for a few adventures to do on Oahu, Lulumahu falls is a must do!   

Next stop, were off to a botanical garden. Ho'omaluhia, is a popular place that lots of people go to get an unobstructed view of the land. “A peaceful refuge” is the english translation of its name “Ho’omaluhia.”  400 acres of lush land, this garden features plants from major tropical regions. They offer a catch and release fishing activities, as well as drawing & painting. These activities are unavailable now though, due to COVID-19.  A couple of my friends and I decided to have a little painting activity of our own. We brought some food to snack on, along with our blank canvases and some paint. Being able to sit and relax in the mits of nature was pleasant. Without distractions, or unpleasant noise, the botanical gardens is a great idea if you’re in need of some peace and quite. 

I am showing you the beautiful, yet very dangerous waters known as Spitting Caves. For this adventure, I am switching it up a bit. I advise that you do not try to test these waters but rather enjoy it from afar. This is a cliff shoreline, where waves crash into the rocky walls and “spit” out water. The reason that I would not recommend for you to test the waters is because the waves, as well as the current are extremely unpredictable. About more than a dozen of people have lost their lives, and many have drowned. The sound alone, is very intimidating. You can hear the echo of the waves when it hits the cave, as well as the “spit.”  I am one who does truly like to adventure, yet there are times when you need to listen to that gut feeling of taking a step back. I value the beauty of our island Oahu, and this location is one of those that you might not want to get an up close experience with. If you decide to take a visit to Spitting Caves, please be careful and just enjoy the view. ...

  You can never go wrong when it comes to taking time to just sit and watch the sun as it goes to bed. The sunsets out on the West side of the island are always breathtaking. These were taken at Keaau Beach Park out in Waianae. Although the drive is kind of lengthy, it is absolutely worth the view. I don't know what it is, but whenever I watch the sunset at the beach there is this surreal feeling, and great amount of appreciation I feel for this place I get to call home. The warmth and calmness that I get from watching sunsets is a vibe thats truly unmatched. The sound of the ocean hitting the sand, and the feeling of the wind pressing on your skin puts me in such a peaceful state, making me feel kind of lazy. I could literally watch sunsets at the beach over and over, and never get tired of it. The islands rewards that come with no cost is something that I think we all need to learn to appreciate.
